Overview

The World will run out of oil and gas in 50-60 years (https://www.bp.com/en/global/corporate/energy-economics/statistical-review-of-world-energy/oil/oil-reserves.html). By this time a Mankind should be ready to meet this challenge. The personal small wind turbines will help to overcome these hard changes. Also the intelligent high efficient control system will help to combine the turbine with solar panel and/or small hydro-station.
The project is intended on the arrangement of serial production of high efficient multi-tier vertical axis wind turbines for residential and small business usage. The turbine, which could be combined with solar panel, would help a human to run all gadgets (micro 0.1 kW turbine) or even to live normally (small 3 kW turbine). The energy can be stored in batteries for further usage in much bigger power application/consumption.
The end user or beneficiary of energy is just any person both now and when the access to energy sources will be limited. The energy is important for living (lighting, cooking, heating, etc.). More than 50% of people on the Earth wouldn’t live without energy. Thus in the near future the proposed small energy solutions will be vitally important for any person in the World. Thus the final project goal is the arrangement of the World distributed net.
The proposed multi-tier vertical axis wind turbines passed through the experimental testing and showed a very high efficiency (Cp>0.50) comparing with the traditional horizontal axis turbines (Cp<0.47) and vertical axis analogs (Cp<0.36). Moreover these turbines make almost no noise and vibration which was proved by 4) prototypes. They are portable and can be moved anywhere quickly. Perfect for the roof top installation and/or portable usage.

Goals

1. To develop and produce highly reliable and efficient small personal wind turbines for any climate and any wind speed (up to 60 m/s). Lifetime > 30 years.
2. To reach the lowest costs for the Power Plants: up to €5,000 per 3 kW wind turbine (including all equipment for giving out stable 220VAC for consumer), up to €1,000 per 0.5 kW wind turbine (including all equipment for giving out stable 12VDC for consumer).
3. To develop a World Distribution Net primarily in EU, USA, JP, Africa and Australia.

In 2 months from project start, the team will be extended to 20 persons (1 engineer and 9 specialists: 2 managers, 3 technologists and workers in fiber plastic formation, 2 technologists and workers in generator fabrication, 2 technologists and workers in electronics production ).

Methods

Summary

1. New technology of blade production. The approach of fiber plastic casting can be implemented any place by any semi-professional team on the base of quickly produced tooling.
2. New technology of generator production can be implemented any place by any semi-professional team on the base of quickly produced tooling.
3. Control system is intelligent based on relatively simple electronic base. The software and updates to be distributed via dealers and Internet.
4. All other components are standard and could be purchased on the Internet market place.

Challenges

1. Distribution Net arrangement. To be arranged on the base of automobile dealers (product and component distribution + servicing in places.
2. Low Pricing. To be overcome by the new technologies of blade, generator and control system mass production approaches.

Pre analysis plan

Production arrangement (equipment purchase and universal tooling fabrication) = 1 year. The universal tooling to be replicated in dealer’s places to provide the components for re-installation and repairs).
Starting serial production with first profit (starting sales via Internet shops and Distribution Net) = 0.5 years. The approach should easily involve lots of distributors in the form of auto dealers.
